Total cost to send 1 child to school is a maximum of UKPound/ Euro 300.-- (depending on exchange rates) for a whole year.
This amount covers the cost for schoolfees, Parent-Teacher Admin Fees (PTA) as well as all the other necessary requirements that the children must have before they are allowed to attend school. The children need a schooluniform, shirts, socks and shoes. These clothes are made locally and will last 1 schoolterm. Each term the children are given new clothes. A warm jacket is given once a year for the winter season.
At the start of each term the children are required to have exercise books and pens/pencils for each subject. Additionally they receive soap and washing detergent.
For the children to gain maximum benefit from attending school we ask our sponsors to commit themselves to supporting the children until they have completed their Secondary Education.
The children go to different schools depending on where they live and which school is best for the child. School fees for Secondary School are slightly higher than for Primary School.
Each term the sponsors are updated on the progress of the children. They are sent a copy of the report as well as some pictures of the children.
The children also send 1 letter (written by themselves) each term to their sponsors.
Currently the sponsor money is kept in a UK bankaccount and each term the exact amount for 1 term sponsorship is sent to the local Lundazi ZANACO* Lessons for Life bankaccount. Our local administrator withdraws the money each term and gives it to the parents/guardians of the children. All transactions are signed and accounted for.
